What is web hosting? types of web hosting|

What is web hosting? or What are the different types of Hosting? are the most asked question on the Internet. Today, I’m here to explain to you.

Here I will tell you the differences between those hosting plans. And which hosting plans are best for you.

I’ll try my very best to explain it to you in simple words. If you still have any doubt; you can ask me in the comment section. I’ll answer you back.

So, before telling the differences in hosting plans. I think first I should tell you what is hosting? So, let’s start without wasting time.

What is hosting?

Hosting is something where you park or stored your websites on a computer called a server.

The benefit of hosting is when a visitor calls your site on their browsers; that request then will go to your hosting server, then whatever you stored in your websites will be shown to them.

In hosting are many types of factors (Core, RAM, Storage of a Computer called Server). Which you have to look carefully before buying a hosting plan.

(if you well understand the above things, then you can skip this part)

Simply,

e.g. (for example) you have a store in a market(store= where your website and its things are stored, Market= market represents Web or Internet). And the name of your store is your domain name or Site’s name.

A person comes in a market to buy or look something(they came in their browsers).

They already know the name of your store, so they come to your store(they call your site in their browser’s URL panel to go to your site).

They came to your site and searching for something[Note: if your site is not hosted, then they can’t see your site] (here the hosting took place; here they can see what you stored in your site).

I hope you understand, if not then comment below.

Different types of Hosting?

There are many types of hosting plans that are able in the market but I’m not going to tell you about all of them.

Because if I do so, then you will not be able to understand the main concept of Hosting.

Instead, you’ll be stuck in all marketing terms. And I don’t want that.

Then what's the meaning of this post left, if you are confused. I made this post so that you can rid out of that confusion. (So Sorry for westing your time. But, that's what I want)

So let's start,

Many types of hosting plans are out there. But which one you should purchase. First, let’s talk about the main 4 types of Hosting.

4 types of Hosting:

I divided the hosting plans based on server configuration. So, you can understand it simply. Hosting is based on two types of services. One is “On One Server” and the other one is “On Multiple Servers”.

On One Server:

I named it because these types of hosting are basically connected with just one server. And the hosting providers most of the time divide those servers into little parts like VPS (Virtual Privet Server) and Shared hosting (Dedicated hosting owns the full server).

It does not mean that VPS and Shared hosting are separate from that server. It means they are part of a server.

e.g. VPS hosting is a part of a pizza. And Shared hosting is a little part of VPS.

In reality, Shared hosting-(by braking)-VPS-(by braking)-Dedicated. Dedicated hosting takes the full Server (that means the whole server only for a Dedicated hosting). In Dedicated hosting, you have the full control of a server.

So let’s talk about Shared, VPS, Dedicated hosting –

1. Shared Hosting

Shared hosting is mostly used for entry-level website.

It's mean if you starting a new website and you have less amount of monthly traffic. Hosting providers makes a little part of VPS hosting and then its called Shared hosting.

For example, if a VPS hosting has 8GB RAM(DDR4 RAM is better than DDR1 RAM), 8 Cores of the processer, and 1TB Hard Disk/256GB SSD(always go for SSD, it’ll boost your site speed).

I assume that those hosting provider brakes VPS in 8 parts as Shared hosting. Then you’ll get 1GB RAM, 1 Core, and 32GB SSD in your shared hosting.

Simply,

e.g. If you have a slice of a cake (the slice is VPS and the full cake is Dedicated hosting). The hosting provider again makes more slice of that slice. Then its called shared.

2. VPS (Virtual Privet Server)

As I said before VPS is also like Shared. But the advantage is if that server has 8 SSD of 256GB.

Then the one part is separated only for you. That’s mean you are in the middle, where you have not requirements as a Dedicated hosting but you have the control as dedicated.

Simply,

You have a slice of cake. And you can do anything with it. Where you have the full control as Dedicated hosting but not as expensive as it.

3. Dedicated Hosting

Dedicated hosting is the most expensive hosting in the market. And most of us don’t need dedicated hosting.

It's only for large companies like Amazon, Flipkart, etc. Or who has monthly visitors in Millions.

And it takes technical knowledge requires. That's why you need a big team to manage these types of hosting. And the best part of this hosting is, it gives full control of your server.

Simply,

You have a full cake. And you can with it whatever you want.

On Multiple Servers:

I named this because these types of hosting are used to store their resources on many computers called Server.
In these types of hosting, if any user calls your site on the URL panel of the browser then the hosting collected resources from many servers.
This service is better than “On One Server” because your stored files are on different servers so if your one server crashed then your hosting can take resources from other servers.
The downside of this “On Multiple Servers” is, this one is a little bit costly than the “On One Server”. But after all, you get many advantages to this.
Simply,
e.g. Items of your store are stored in 3 go downs. So that no one can steal your items at once.
So let's talk about Cloud hosting –

Cloud Hosting:

Cloud hosting is known for its customizations. You can change your limitations on the go.

If your need is less then you can decrease its limitations and also you can increase its limitation when you want.

This is a better option than the other options. Because it takes resources from many servers.

That's why its Uptime is more than the other hosting options out there. And the best part is if a server crashes then it took resources from other sites. It also has the capacity as the Dedicated hosting.

e.g. (again) of your store are stored in 3 go downs. So that no one can steal your items at once.

Which hosting plans are best for Startup?

Here I’ll tell you which hosting plans are best for you? Or how to choose hosting plans?

*For startup (sheared):

RAM: 250-500MB (as much RAM you have as fast you can manage everything)

Bandwidth: 60-100GB (as much bandwidth you as your visitor can do downloading & uploading transitions in a particular time)

Disk Space: minimum 10GB SSD (this is the storage of your site) (I suggest you always go with SSD, then your site will be able to finish downloading & uploading case in less time)

Price: maximum 350 (first time) & renewal 650 per month

Free SSL: (security certificate for you and also your visitors)

Uptime: 97% - 99.9% Uptime

Support: 24/7 support

Number of the domain you can add: Unlimited

Best Between VPS and Cloud Hosting

Please think again if you going to buy a VPS Hosting. Cloud Hosting is the best because of “5M”.

“5M” =

(M1) More Uptime
(M2) More customization
(M3) More resource options
(M4) More Safer when it comes to a server crash (because it is on multiple servers)
(M5)  More Faster

Now please forgive me for not giving the Next VPS hosting suggestions and also for Dedicated. Because if you started then you’ll automatically get the idea. Then you don’t need me.

Remember – “Option is the wife of life
