What is a good domain authority score?

It depends on your competitor's score. Since domain authority is a comparative metric, there is no specific “good” or “bad” score. Moz rank as in between 0 to 100.

If I really had to give a number, I would say that the domain authority of the average website is probably around DA-20 to 30.

and more than average authority has DA 40 to 50
also, the top authority or high ranking websites have above DA-80 to 90

NOTE: going from 0 to 10 is much easier than trying to get from 40 to 50. And also to get high-ranking.

How will your domain authority score be calculated?

Moz claims an overall use of metrics and link content that affects authority scores. Determining how Moz DA calculates is difficult because they use a complex algorithm.

The list of metrics that Moz considers includes:

• Z Mozrank (connection amount)

• Z MozTrust (link quality)

• Spam score

• And much more, Moz doesn’t really specify the exact list so we can only guess.

However, it is a well-known fact that the number of high-quality incoming links you have is the only important determining factor to consider when calculating your DA score.
